Meltlab 98 (Win98, Win98 SE)
MeltLab 98 options include not only the different types of metals, which can be combined, but also the number of measuring stations (cups and lances), and if scoreboards and or light stacks will be used. The largest system we have done had 5 furnaces and 5 lances on one MeltLab. Other foundries have choosen to have seperate MeltLabs for each area. This second approach is useful when the sampling sites are far apart, and the information needs to be local.MeltLab has been designed to work with any supplier cup. Light Metal sampling generally uses a steel cup and a reuseable thermal couple because sand cups tend to soak up a lot of the metal temperature superheat and thereby missing the liquidus arrest.
