Converter Box
|
The converter box is used to convert the milli-volt signal from cup stands and lances into digital format.
The individual converters are high precision (+/- 1/10th degree) industrial grade modules. All parts are warranted for
5 years against manufactures defects. The number of modules in each converter box is the sum of the cup stands and
lances connected to MeltLab. Part Number : 200801

6B11 Blue Module
|
These are the analog-to-digital converters that take the thermal couple energy and translate
it into computer readable code. They are inside the MeltLab Converter box. Standard life of
these modules is in excess of 5 years.

| Relay Control Box (Optional) |
The relay control box is used to turn on lights for lance temperature measurements, and sound a horn when the
measurement is finished. The customer provides the lights and horn. The output is 115 volts AC with a recommended
maximum of 100 watts per light or horn.

Scoreboards (Optional)
|
Scoreboards can be provided in four (4) and forty (40) character sizes. The four character size is used for
temperatures only, while the 40 character size is used for cup and temperature results combined. When more than one
scoreboard is to be used, the scoreboards should use RS422 protocol to simplify the wiring. Scoreboards will require
the use of a second serial port or a USB port on the computer.

Heavy Duty S (green) and K (yellow) high visibility extension wire for movable stands and lances. Two 20-gauge
stranded conductors with two sheaths and stainless steel shielding. Use this wire when the wire must be exposed.
Ground the shield on one end only. This wire does not pull well through conduit.

Conduit K Connecting Wire

Twenty gage solid conduit K and S extension cable (yellow or brown), Teflon coated with shield and ground wire. This wire
is ideal for pulling through conduit.

Type S extreme temperature internal lance wire shielded with high temperature fiber insulation, this wire can
take the heat.

High Temperature Cup-stand Connector
|
This connector is made from Rytan 7, the most temperature resistant, non-conductive material available.
The rails and alignment pins are made to leave an air gap between the cup and the stand providing extremely long
life for the connector, yet with stability for the cup. Competitor connectors are made from nylon, Bakelite, and
thermal setting plastic. They cannot compare. Available for square bottom cups only.
