SpectrometerLab

The SpectrometerLab software can greatly enhance the usefulness of your spectrometer by sharing the data in realtime with the foundry floor, providing realtime SPC grahics and text display, and providing charge correction values, and range control by part number. The software works with the G9000/GSPC data base system as an input module.

SpectrometerLab Simple

SpectrometerLab is an interface between modern spectrometers and the end users of the data. This program has been implemented on ARL, Baird, and SpectroMax spectrometers The operator has before him, one to four burns, the calculated average, calculated variables, manually input values, and the ranges for those values based on the foundry specification as modified by the part number. Values out of range are color coded for quick identification. Data from combustion analysis is readily incorporated into the analysis by serial cable, and MeltLab data can also be semi-automatically added to the record. The operator has immediate access to the last 20 samples for each process (furnace/grade) in both data and graphic formats.

SpectrometerLab Large

In case your foundry has the need of a complex analysis, the large version includes more tests, ferrite calculations, adjustments, trace, ASTM rounding, lap (low as possible) ranges, and links into calculation and MeltDeck programs. As the creators of the software, we can add custom routines either based on industrial standards, or write routines that only activate on your licence of the software.

Spectrometer Types

Choose Spectrometer Type

This is a list of currently supported spectrometers. Any spectrometer that supports transmitting it's results can be supported by SpectrometerLab. One method is to allow simple commands to be sent from the SpectrometerLab computer to the keyboard of the OEM's computer to automate burns while the operator identifys the sample and enters in extra information like line number, part number, etc.

Realtime spectrometer graphics

Realtime spectrometer graphics

Each spectrometer test variable can be instantly graphed by process (melter/metal type/holder/line). Click on the variable name to the right of the graph to change the test to graph.

Cumbustion analysizer Import

Combustion analysizers such as LECO can often transmit their data via serial port. SpectrometerLab can capture the data through a serial port or USB port and buffer it until you are ready to add it to your spectrometer analysis. Use this and the MeltLab import function to form a more complete record of the process.

MeltLab import

MeltLab Data Import

MeltLab thermal analysis data (another fine program by us)can be easily and semiautomaticly entered into a spectrometer record. Press the function key for MeltLab, then, if you want the most recent test, press the Enter key and it is in!

Spectrometer Charge Correction for complex alloys

Charge corrections can be simple for general melting, but we offer a top in charge correction utility for those making sophisticated steels and other alloys. Taking the spectrometer analysis it calculates a low cost charge correction based on the limits of the specifications with the added ability for the operator to tweek the limits as needed.
